Don't Eat in the Dark!
This summer my mom and I have spent our Thursday nights at the Pleasant Grove Promenade sharing the oils with people. It is like the Freedom festival in Provo where a lot of people have booths and food and people come and hang out and have a good time. Last night my dad brought us some brownies, but because of my braces I didn't want to eat them and then risk talking to people with brownies all in my teeth so we covered them and set them by a tree behind our booth (big mistake). When the promenade ended that night my mom and I started to eat our brownies while we were cleaning up. My mom finished hers and as I was eating mine I had a couple of sharp pains in my mouth. I thought I had broke a bracket or a wire or something. I then noticed that there were ants all over the table that were cleaning up. I grabbed a light and looked closer and that is when I realized that the ants were also all over the BROWNIES!!!!! And the pain I was feeling were the ants BITING ME!!! I was EATING ANTS!!! Luckily I had only ate a couple of bites. My poor mom had finished her entire brownie without noticing anything. My dad kept telling us that it was good protein, but I disagree. I do not enjoy biting protein. Obviously I freaked out because not only were there ants in my mouth biting me, but I was worried that they were stuck in my braces. Whenever I eat I always ask somebody if there is any food in my teeth, but it was a first when I turned to my mom and asked if there were any ANTS in my teeth! Yep, pretty traumatized, and it wasn't until I got home where there was more light that I found the ant that was indeed stuck in my rubber bands. EWWWWW!!!!! But although is was not a good experience I would have to agree that it was probably more traumatizing for the ants. So please don't eat in the dark!

8 months and counting
Over the last 8 months a lot has happened. At first nobody really noticed unless I told them, and as the months went by more people did. I started getting more and more self conscious. Certain things started getting bigger and more obvious, and the sleeping now is a joke! I am constantly uncomfortable and in pain. I am also so tired because of the lack of sleep and it is getting harder and harder to breathe. I look at my calendar multiple times a day to see how much longer I have and willing time to move faster. At night I think about the outcome and how happy I will be and how much better I will feel. Seems like I have been waiting forever, but Hopefully the end is near! That's right everybody! If all goes as planned, sometime in September I will become a mother of three! Just kidding I am not pregnant, but that is honestly how I feel minus the whole baby part. I am 8 months into my process of having orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery)! I know really exciting huh? If you have talked to me in the lately you most likely know this, because I tend to talk about it A LOT. So sorry guys, but I can't seem to help it. I am just so darn excited to have my jaw broken in multiple places and I can't even begin to describe how happy I was when my surgeon told me he will teach me in the hospital how to eat out of a syringe! Yep, good days ahead for me!

It will not be the most fun time of my life, but the outcome will be worth it. To actually be able to close my mouth and have my teeth fit together correctly will be great. I can't wait for the day I can put my hair in a ponytail and not be self conscious. And the day I get my braces off! That will probably be up there with my wedding day and when my children were born. I am planning on having a huge party full of corn on the cob, caramel apples, popcorn, nuts, carrots etc... Too bad I probably have a year before that day comes, but when it does feel free to pay me the highest compliment possible by saying things like, "You have a really nice profile!" or "Hey Jen! I like your chin!"

There's an Oil for That!
A few months ago a friend introduced me to essential oils. I didn't know anything about them, but everything I have learned since then I have loved! It has truly CHANGED MY LIFE and how I take care of my family. Yeah it sounds pretty cheesy, but it's the honest truth. My main interest in these oils was that there are specific oil blends that help with anxiety and depression. I have a family history of depression and anxiety and it definitely found me. I have debated on whether or not to write about this because in the past I have had negative experiences with telling people. If you haven't experienced anxiety or depression it is really easy to tell somebody that it is all in their head and to just get over it, but if you have, than you know how real and awful it can be. I was first put on antidepressants in elementary school because of anxiety over school and it was making me physically sick. I can still remember the nightmares that I had as a little girl that consisted of spelling tests and homework. And now as a parent looking back I think it is so sad that a child as young as I was, was put on a medication like that. The anti-depressant was Paxil and I just looked up the possible side effects to this particular medicine: headache, dizziness, weakness, difficulty concentrating, nervousness, forgetfulness, confusion, sleepiness or feeling "drugged", nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, gas, stomach pain, heartburn, changes in ability to taste food, decreased appetite, weight loss or gain, changes in sex drive or abiltiy, dry mouth, sweating, yawning, sensitivity to light, runny nose, cough, lump or tightness in throat, pain, in the back, muscles, joints, or anywhere in the body, musckle weakness or tightness, flushing, problems with teeth, unusual dreams and painful or irregular menstruation. Wow! Now don't those sound like fun? Sure I want my to get rid of my depression, but at the expense of experiencing these other things??? I'll take the weight loss, but that's it. I don't really remember what I experienced at that time, but I have been on antidepressants since then and I can tell you that I have experienced a lot of those side effects. But the days of experiencing those side effects are over. I can happily say that a couple of months ago I was able to go off of my medication, and it was because of these oils. One of the things I love most about these oils is that there are NO side effects because they are 100% natural and do not contain anything synthetic. They also work within minutes which really helps if you are having a down day or really stressed out. (many antidepressants in case you are unaware take a couple of weeks to get into your system and start working). I have created a new blog where I am writing about the experiences that I have with these oils and hopefully you will check it out (http://www.theresanoil4that.blogspot.com) . As Trent and I have shared our experiences and knowledge about these oils we have been amazed at how many people are struggling with the same thing as well as many other problems and how we have seen these oils change their life as well.

House for 2011
I definitely am looking forward to this upcoming year. I just know that a lot of good things are in store. One of the goals Trent and I have for this year is to get into a home. We have enjoyed our condo, but the two bedrooms are just getting a little to small and everyday I dream of a day when I will have my own FENCED IN YARD! A VERY important thing for a mother of two and a dog. It will also be so very nice to be able to not worry about stupid paranoid neighbors calling the cops or DFS whenever they hear my children cry. I am so sick of sharing walls with people. Yep a house sounds pretty good.

Better Marriage Blanket
So I stumbled upon this commercial for the "Better Marriage Blanket" (www.bettermarriageblanket.com) . It is supposed to completely & quickly absorb the odor of flatulence. At first I laughed and thought it was stupid, but the more I think about it, the better it sounds :)

Mom of two definitely keeps me busy!
I love being a mom to both of my girls, but let me tell you I am sure busy! It is amazing the experiences that you have as a parent and all you can do is laugh. For those of you who are not yet parents let me enlighten you to some of the things that take up my time. For those who are parents I am sure you will be able to relate!
My day starts around 5 in the morning when Lily usually wants to eat. Around 8:00 Adalynn is usually up and yelling at me to wake up because she is hungry. She usually asks for cheese, snacks, marshmallows, juice or sometimes when I am not fast enough she just pours herself some cereal.
I have decided that Adalynn is old enough and needs to start helping out around the house and so she has started doing her own laundry.
I sadly didn't learn to do my own laundry until I got married, but I am making sure that my children don't make the same mistake I did. In between all of the housework I am busy changing many, many diapers, but don't worry Adalynn is doing her part here as well:
And because diapers can be so stinky Adalynn sometimes makes sure that the house still smells fresh. She prefers the scent of baby powder.
After all of that housework we sure work up an appetite so we have lunch.
Lily is still nursing, but Adalynn doesn't want to feel left out so sometimes she will pump
I always have so many errands to run and let me tell you how difficult it is to take a two year old and a baby to the store (especially the two year old, Lily is usually really good). Adalynn is a very strong willed little girl and definititely two so if you are not a parent who has not experienced this, just wait, and in the mean time please be kind to those parents who are sweating and having a hard time loading groceries on the belt, or keeping their children in the cart, or chasing them down the aisle, or watching their children scream and kick on the floor. And if you have experienced this just know that I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!!!!!!
Now all parents know that kids love to color so obviously we spend a lot of time coloring. Some times Adalynn takes it a little too far, but I have learned that pen does come off skin quite easily.

We are lucky to live where there is a pool and so often I will take the girls swimming. Sometimes Adalynn is just so excited that she just gets ready herself.

After a long hot day of swimming it is time to take baths. And my girls love taking baths. Adalynn is so cute with Lily and loves to help me bathe her.

I couldn't have asked for a better big sister for my sweet Lily. And nothing melts a mothers heart more than seeing her children be kind and show love to one another.

I sure am a lucky mom and have two amazing girls.

And although he is gone a lot working so I can stay home and going to school don't forget my amazing hubby Trent! Who loves his girls more than anything! (except maybe me!)

Catch up time!
I can't believe my sweet Lily is 1 month old tomorrow! It is amazing how pregnancy seems to last forever, but as soon as they are born time flies! It could be because I am so much busier now. I am so sick of changing diapers and want to start potty training Adalynn, but whenever I ask her if she wants to go sit on her potty she answers "no, I'm scared". Hopefully she can overcome her fear soon.I am loving being a mom of two little girls! I have found a couple of matching outfits for them. I am also so tired and overwhelmed. It is amazing how hard it is to get anything done! If only I had more hands or another me (that is what I want for Mothers Day) Somebody always needs to be fed, changed, bathed, burped, or just wants attention and that even includes the dog! I swear every time I start nursing Lily, Raymond starts growling to go outside. I think he is having the hardest time adjusting to the new baby. To all you mothers out there who have more than one child, or especially twins, I think you are amazing!
This is me on March 28. I may look happy and that is because I know that all the aches, pains, heart burn, and inability to breathe will be coming to an end and I will be able to hold my baby girl!
When I was pregnant with Lily, I could tell that she was longer than Adalynn. I would refer to her as my Lerpy Lily, and I was right. At her two week check up she was in the 95th percentile for her height!
Trent has been such a huge help since Lily was born. He is such a great dad and loves his girls to death! Him and Adalynn have a very special bond and they love playing together.
Adalynn Loves taking bubble baths. She has started swimming and splashing around a lot more. When she is done she now sings the clean up song and puts her toys away.
